The context
A personal-brand site for an active senior search has one job: communicate seriousness in the first few seconds, and load fast enough that no one waits to find out. That's a design and engineering problem as much as a copy one.
How it's built
Hand-authored static HTML, CSS, and a sliver of JavaScript — no framework, no heavy runtime. A dark, restrained design system; self-hosted type; structured data so search engines and share cards render it correctly. It's engineered to be quick, accessible, and quiet.
It was built collaboratively with an AI coding workflow — direction and judgment from me, execution accelerated by the tooling — which is itself part of the point.
The approach
Decide the few things that matter — clarity, speed, restraint — and let them rule out everything else. Keep the surface small so it stays fast and maintainable. Treat performance and accessibility as design constraints, not afterthoughts.
What it demonstrates
A bias for shipping something clean and complete, and a working comfort with modern AI-assisted building — applied to a real thing rather than a slide about it.
